How to install Flush Frog
On a compatible gravity toilet, installation is a small plumbing reroute, not a repair. You are moving the existing refill stream through the dispenser before it enters the overflow pipe.
Before you start: identify three parts
Lift the tank lid and find:
- Fill valve: the assembly that turns refill water on and off.
- Refill tube: the small flexible tube leaving the fill valve.
- Overflow pipe: the open vertical pipe the refill tube normally points into.
If you cannot identify an accessible overflow pipe, stop there and use the fit guide. Do not force, bend, or cut tank parts.
Step 1: load a compatible tablet
Start with one compatible 3-inch BCDMH bromine tablet, sold separately. Keep the tablet dry until loading, avoid direct skin contact as instructed on its label, and wash hands after handling if the label directs you to do so.
Never mix toilet-cleaning chemicals. Do not add another cleaner to the tank or bowl just because a different product is already present. Follow the chemical manufacturer’s label.
Step 2: clip Flush Frog to the overflow pipe
Position the dispenser so it is stable on the overflow pipe and does not interfere with the flapper, flush-valve movement, float, chain, or tank lid. Nothing should be pinched or held open.
Step 3: route the refill tube through the dispenser
Move the refill tube from its normal overflow-pipe position to the Flush Frog inlet/path. The goal is simple: refill water should pass through the dispenser and then enter the overflow pipe.
Do not push a refill tube deep below the overflow opening or improvise a submerged connection. Toilet manufacturers normally use a clip or air-gap arrangement to prevent siphoning. Preserve the toilet’s intended refill geometry.
Step 4: test one flush with the lid off
Flush once and watch the refill cycle. Check four things:
- Water flows through the refill tube.
- Water passes through the dispenser.
- Water enters the overflow pipe.
- The flapper closes normally and the fill valve shuts off.
Then replace the lid and flush again.
If the toilet runs continuously
Turn off the toilet’s shutoff valve if necessary and inspect the simple things first: a caught chain, a flapper prevented from sealing, a float obstructed by the dispenser or tube, or a refill tube placed incorrectly. Flush Frog should not touch or restrain moving flush parts.
If the bowl water looks lower than before
Check the refill path. A full tank does not guarantee a properly refilled bowl. If refill water is not reaching the overflow pipe, the tank can look completely normal while the bowl finishes low.
When to stop
If the dispenser cannot sit securely without interfering with tank hardware, do not improvise. Remove it and use the contact form. No-fit cases are covered by the 30-day guarantee.
